So, I just saw the following article and was a little amazed at the figures that were presented. I remember a while back I called Nintendo arrogant for claiming responsibility for 99% of the Industry growth in 2008. I may have been a little wrong. While 99% is a staggering number, considering the numbers shown they sure did a hell of a job in 2008. Sure, while the numbers in the original article only represent North America and Europe its sure hard to believe that Nintendo would have significantly lessened figures in their own backyard. I am, though, completely amazed at the pure volume some of those games sold, Wii Fit, SSBB, and Mario Kart Wii especially considering they are a single platform title. When you consider the other titles, GTAIV, and Guitar Hero are multi-platform and in the case of Guitar Hero being multi-sku and multi-platform its hard to completely chide Nintendo for making such wide claims.
